Signal Processing
Faculté des sciences et de la technologie

This course material is designed for third-year Electronics and Communication students at the Faculty of Science and Technology, providing a foundational understanding of signal processing. It aims to equip students with the skills to analyze and model signals in both time and frequency domains, while introducing them to key digital processing techniques like spectral analysis and filtering.

The course covers advanced concepts such as sampling theory, discrete Fourier transforms (DFT), and Z-transforms. Students will also explore random signals and stochastic processes, learning to handle signals corrupted by noise using filtering and detection techniques.

The course introduces analogue and digital filters, focusing on their design and implementation, and emphasizes applications in fields like telecommunications, image processing, biomedical engineering, and control systems. Practical exercises and examples throughout the course help students develop a strong theoretical and practical foundation in signal processing.
