This first-year law course introduces the Algerian legal and political system. It covers four units: (1) Subjective rights—patrimonial vs. non-patrimonial rights, real/personal rights, and key judicial concepts; (2) The judicial system—ordinary and administrative orders, Supreme Court, Council of State, and Court of Conflicts; (3) Divisions of law—public/private law, international law, mixed and emerging branches; (4) The political system—Constitution, separation of powers, central institutions, and local authorities. Essential vocabulary and institutional architecture are emphasized.
